Feeling overwhelmed is easy when there are literally millions and millions of possibilities behind our screen.
…
I unplug to take life one thing at a time.
I unplug to escape the constant pinging and buzzing of notifications, alerts, and messages.
I unplug to look at the sky.
I unplug to open my book and focus on one thing.
I unplug for date night.
I unplug for morning workouts. Or afternoon workouts.
I unplug to spend uninterrupted time with friends. With family. With myself.
I unplug to drive.
I unplug to take my dog for a walk. To play fetch with her. To scratch her belly.
I unplug to sip on my coffee and talk to my significant other.
I unplug to live.
…
I love to look around me. I love to smell the bacon my neighbor is cooking, or hear the magpies fight over the scraps of bagel they found outside.
I love to spend time with loved ones – including myself.
When we unplug, we are in good company. Even when we are alone.
Enjoy the silence.
